IOC Decision Olympic Program Tokyo 2020

To all ISSF Member Federations

Dear Mrs./Mr. President,

We received the enclosed letter from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) informing us that the IOC Executive Board today decided the Program and Quota of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The IOC gave us the good news that the shooting sport will continue to have 15 events on the Program of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with 6 events for men, 6 events for women and 3 mixed gender team events. Therefore, we are pleased to note that the shooting sport will even have 18 medal winners due to the 3 new mixed gender team events where 2 persons form teams.

The IOC further informed us that the ISSF will have 360 quota places in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. This means unfortunately a reduction of 30 quota places but we are confident that the shooting sport will continue to be one of the most universal sports within the Olympic Movement.

For your information we are also providing you with the latest ISSF Press Release which was published this afternoon.

Further the IOC has published a detailed release on changes for all sports and we invite you to read this information under the following link:https://www.olympic.org/news/tokyo-2020-event-programme-to-see-major-boost-for-female-participation-youth-and-urban-appeal

We are sending our best regards and remain,

Sincerely yours,
