CLARIFICATIONS/AMENDMENTS IN SELECTION CRITERIA FOR RIFLE AND PISTOL 2023

The Technical Committee of NRAI has issued the following clarifications and amendments in Selection Criteria for Rifle and Pistol 2023. 

CLARIFICATIONS
 
A). That the Selection Policy  [as stated within the present policy - 2023]  - will be a continuous one and hence there will be no starting point.  The moving average (calculated as mentioned within the policy) will be applied for selection of National squad, Groups A/B and teams for representing the country. 
 
B] Scores of Recognised Competitions (RC) 2023 will be considered for the purpose of  arriving at the Average/ranking. For the consideration of scores, the time frame, as stated under Clause 4 shall be applicable.
 
C] Group A and B of 2024 will be decided on completion of the 66th National Shooting  Championship [NSCC] after considering scores as stated under B above.
 
AMENDMENTS TO BE IMPLEMENTED FROM 66 NSCC ONWARDS (SELECTION CRITERIA 2024)
 
A] Starting from the 66th NSCC Group A will only consist of shooters who opt to be part of the Senior Category in Olympic events. There will not be Group A of junior shooters. Selection of shooters, for seniors (non-Olympic events) and junior/youth category, will be done on the basis of rankings under Group B. 
 
B] On completion of the 66th NSCC, averages of shooters of Group A and B will be amalgamated and one consolidated ranking will be prepared for selection of National Squad. Shooters will be asked to opt for Group A or Group B. 
 
C] The shooters for National Squad 2024 will be selected after completion of 66 NSCC. A maximum of 6 shooters in each Olympic event will be selected as a member of NSQ 2024. 
 
D] Youth shooters, based on the rankings, will also be considered for selection of junior international competitions. 
 
E] Shooters for international competitions shall be selected from Group A in all Olympic events.
 
Rest of the terms and conditions, as stated under current Selection Criteria shall remain the same. The NRAI, after incorporating the above amendments, will publish Selection Criteria 2024, prior to the start of 66 NSCC.
 
The Governing Body of NRAI reserves the right to make any further amendment, as it deems fit.
