USE OF SEMI-AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN DURING COMPETITIONS

The ISSF has modified its Rule 9.4.2.1 under which it has prohibited use of semi-automatic guns during competitions. The said Rule has been implemented from 8th May 2023. The Rule 9.4.2.1 reads as under:
 
Rule 9.4.2.1 Type of Shotguns
 
a) All types of smoothbore shotguns, but excluding semi-automatics and pump action shotguns, may be used, provided their calibre does not exceed 12 gauge. Shotguns smaller than 12 gauge may be used.
 
In view of the amendment, no shooter will be allowed to use the semi-automatic gun during competitions/trials nor any import permit for this type of weapons will be issued.
